"Home is Where The Art Is" opens this Friday night at New Urban Arts!
Don't miss out on the first student exhibition of the year! “Home is Where the Art is” features new and exciting work by over 125 public high school students enrolled in New Urban Arts’ nationally recognized out-of-school arts programs, ranging from paintings and photography to silkscreen prints and spoken word poetry.
Our gallery comes alive through interactive installations that invite visitors to contribute their own artistic expressions, along with film screenings and performances that occur at unexpected intervals throughout the evening.
New this year is a “comic expo” featuring hand drawn publications by students, and the opportunity for gallery visitors to take home original artwork from the Sketch Factory. The event is free and open to the public. Food and refreshments are provided.
For those who miss the opening event, the exhibition will be on view in the gallery from January 26 to February 9, weekdays 2-6 pm.
