Conversations on Creative Practice
Conversations on Creative Practice New Urban Arts believes life is more meaningful, and communities will be stronger, if we pause to value creativity and imagination. This year we launched a new public lecture series, /Conversations/, which invites unique individuals to share how they integrate creativity into their personal and professional lives whether they are gardeners, painters, chefs, or plumbers. These conversations are recorded and presented via podcast. This project is made possible through generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts

SOUND SHRINE: A COLLECTIVE WISH LIST
Through shrines, we can concentrate our energies and intentions. One way to do this is to speak aloud our intentions or wishes. During our Annual Summer Art Inquiry, high school students collected wishes on mini-disc and cassette by interviewing people of all ages in the West End and downtown areas of Providence as well as in New Urban Arts studio. Our students also added their own audio wishes, sharing their deepest dreams and desires.

We recommend that you subscribe to our podcast, so that you can download the audio wish collective to your mp3 player and enjoy the cacophony of voices. But, if you want to listen to it through your web browswer, click here.
